I mainly focus in oil painting but I also use watercolor and mixed media in some of my pieces. The decisions I make when working on a piece are usually suggested by the work itself as it is being created. My paintings are an exploration and abstraction of my perception of the world I live in and are often concerned with the brink of creation and destruction. They reflect on the physical and emotional ruins that human influence leaves behind. I see this as a simultaneously beautiful and terrifying metaphor of our role of humans. The stunning aesthetic of decay provokes the question of the history of a location. These inquiries lead my mind to conjure fictitious elements into this imagined history.
